I am sweet, gentle, loving, happy and playful. I love everyone I meet and am especially fond of children. They tell me I�d be best with kids at least maybe 5 years old because I love to jump on people I like and I might knock smaller kids over. Playing with other dogs is one of my passions. I have been given a lot of pooch playmates, even ones twice my size, and I just have had a wonderful time with every one of them. I love to run and romp with people, too. Ball-chasing and fetching is not one of the games I like but I do love to run after a stuffed toy and give it a good shake. I have met a few cats and while I�m interested in them, as soon as they let me know who�s boss, I am convinced and leave them alone. My breed mix is probably one or more of the following: lab, pit bull terrier, Dalmatian, whippet. I am slender and agile and I weigh 30-35 pounds. While I am all white, there are light brown spots on my soft ears and under my body coat, you can see faint spots. I have one brown eye; the other is blue. While I sound like I could fit most anywhere, I do need some special consideration because I am deaf. This doesn�t get in my way for being a good companion, though. I have already learned some hand signals and I enjoy being with people so much that I am always handy for getting a pet or a treat when I have earned praise.I came to Humboldt County Shelter as an injured stray, having been hit by a car. My leg was not seriously injured and I am just fine now. I had been here before as a stray; after this last time, my owners, who didn�t want to keep me safe in a yard, let me go. I hope to find someone who will give me a cozy home filled with love and play and will make sure I am safe from cars and other things that could hurt me. I will return that love a thousand-fold. I want to be with my people most of the time and be able to be in the house when they are. We have a Blue Heeler whose time is up. He is deaf. He has been in the kennel by himself so not sure how he is with other dogs and cats. I know he appears to love me! Will find out more about him around cats and dogs. UPDATE: We just took Blue out to test with the shelter kitties. He wanted to chase one of them when it ran. One the cats smacked at him and he turned and walked away. He was in with a dog when he first came in and got along with it.

Dallas, Texas -- A Deaf Dog Euthanized End of Week

P.S. The person who has this deaf pitbull said he already has 2 dogs and lives in a small condo. He took this deaf pitbull from a terrible home. Now, a pitbull rescue group has a custody of him and the rescue group said they have a list of approved applicants who want to adopt a pitbull. The deaf pitbull went home to one of the approved applicants. The person at rescue group said this deaf dog is now in a good home, will be loved and spoiled, given the care he needs.



I have a friend that has the greatest dog. It is a 1 year old white pit bull who is really sweet. The only draw back is that the dog is deaf. My friend can't keep the dog anymore and can't find anyone to take him. He said that by the end of the week he is going to take him to the SPCA and pay $35 to have him put to sleep. Please, if anyone out there has the room and the love for this dog please let me know. I live in an apartment and can't keep him. Please call me ASAP (214)603-3154!!! P.S. Katherine here: I once fostered a pitbull (hearing) that I rescued from the street and it is the most lovable dog I've ever met. It is now placed in a very loving home through the help of a rescue group. Don't think all pitbulls are vicious and those that are vicious are because of human's training, not the pitbull breed itself. I know some people with deaf pitbulls and they're a wonderful pet. Did you know that this famous dog on "The Little Rascal" TV show is a pitbull?

Deaf Boxer Mix Needs Rescue in Dickinson, TN NOW!

Animal Control picked him up after someone called to inform them he was wandering around. So far, no one has claimed a lost deaf dog. This deaf boxer mix needs a home before he will be euthanized as he has overstayed his welcome and it is getting overcrowded in the shelter.



Nobody wants this poor guy. The girls in the back of shelter took him out to play with the other dogs. He got along fine with them. He is a little hyper and he just needs some attention. He walks great on a leash. We tested him with cats and he could have cared less since he just turned his head and walked away. He really is a big baby.

I thought that while I waited for you to call me back, I would take some pictures of the boy that I wanted to tell you about. He was so happy to have a visitor that it was hard to get one of him standing still.

We have a young male, (not yet neutered) heartworm positive Dalmatian that we need to get into rescue. He is a super friendly boy, and I think he is one of the most attractive Dals I’ve seen in a long time. I do have my suspicions that he may be deaf. He is very hard to wake from a deep sleep. He does also have one blue eye. He came in as a stray but I am guesstimating his age at 12 – 18 months. He also seems to be on the small side, he weighs approximately 45 – 50 lbs. I have been told that he may have some dominance issues with other dogs. He has had a roommate, and I was told that when they took him out of the pen, and later tried to put him back in it, he became aggressive with the other dog. Since then he has had a pen by himself and he hasn’t been any trouble.



His stray waiting period is over and I must find someone to take him (preferably by Wednesday or this weekend)or we will have to put him down. Let me know if you think rescue will take him.

Deaf Pup Needs Help Immediately!

I have one that needs rescue in order to save her life. We had a 5 month old American Bulldog mix, Posey, surrendered by her owners because she is deaf and they didn't want her anymore. She is a doll. She loves other dogs and cats. She has passed a temperament test, but because she is considered special needs we are unable to place her. She has been vaccinated, dewormed, and advantaged (flea treatment). If anyone can help her, we would greatly appreciate it. The shelter is located in Lafayette, IN, about 2 1/2 south east of Chicago.

Please Save This Deaf Boxer in Illinois!!!

Would you have room for this white boxer? She is an owner surrender and has cysts on both of her hind legs. The owner said she was around 5 years old. We suspect she is older than that.

We are doing a heartworm test on her today and will let you know the results. We can give her a dhlpp and rabies before she leaves. I don't believe she is spayed, but I will double check to make sure.

She is currently being held in animal control and unless we can find some place for her to go, she will be euthanized.

Blue Eyed Zeke with Perky Ears Needs a Home.

UPDATE: ADOPTED!



He is a good lap dog. He likes to sit on your lap and likes most everyone. Warms up to strangers very quickly. Loves to wrestle with you using toys but needs strong toys because he chews them up quickly.

He knows the hand commands of thumbs down for no and thumbs up for yes or good. Understands sit, lay down and come. Pretty good on stay but only if he can see you in the room. He sleeps in a kennel at night and likes it. Sleeps through the night.

He is outside potty trained and no accidents in almost a year. He loves to forage outside and only a digger if encouraged by another dog. Zeke is in Brookshire, which is a suburb of Houston. Transport can be arranged.

"Chloe is a one-year-old Dogo Argentino who is deaf. She's a sweetheart and a lot of the volunteers at the shelter have become attached to her, but our new vet thinks she's been here too long and wants to PUT HER DOWN.

Chloe needs help QUICKLY. She is very loving and responsive to attention. She is fine with being handled and hasn't shown any possessiveness. She gets excited often and will jump up to kiss you. Chloe seems to enjoy other dogs, but she does plays rough. Her owner told us Chloe is housebroken and crate trained. She was surrendered
because the owner's daughter was afraid of her since she plays roughly.

Since she's deaf, it's the funniest thing to walk through the kennels filled with barking dogs, and then you get to Chloe, who is asleep on a blanket -- oblivious to it all.

I am trying to find out if there is any rescues that will take this sweet little boy. His last day is Monday for adopting, and then he will be euthanized.

This boy is a year and a half old, heartworm negative, neutered and all shots are up to date. He also has the most beautiful eyes and a smile that never quits. A true clown looking for a home that has a sense of humor - he loves everybody and everything that he comes into contact with. Are you looking for a bright and happy dog that will keep you laughing? Then Lucky might be the one for you. He is deaf but he doesn't care, actually he has never noticed, and neither will you. He will watch you with those gorgeous eyes and wait until you tell him what to do. Lucky is a really good find for the right home.
