Bulloch Co, GA: White German Shepherd Pup Mix Needs Help

To whom it may concern:

I am contacting you on behalf of the Humane Society of Statesboro and Bulloch County. We have a rescue dog (Gypsy) who is deaf and so has been hard for us to place. Also, as we have no fosters who are knowledgeable in training deaf dogs we are at a disadvantage in training her and thus placing her successfully. If you either have room for her in your rescue or advice/help for us in placing her in a forever home successfully we would appreciate the help. We do appreciate any help with her as she is a sweetheart and very friendly, but seems to be having problems at her foster home due to chewing. I do not know if this is related to her deafness and therefore her need for increased sensory input. I am concerned we are concentrating on her deafness, but this is probably due to our lack of knowledge of this disability. She is completely vetted and spayed.  Thank you for any help you are able to give us.

Stockbridge, GA: English Bulldog Needs a Home

Iceman is a white English Bulldog. He is deaf. Iceman is great with little kids and all different kinds of animals (cats, dogs, reptiles, etc.). He loves women but not too great with men/teenage boys (unless he grows-up with them). Potty trained, loves to follow you around the house, loves to play with empty water bottles, can play rough, is cage aggressive but will go in his crate, and will protect in the home.

Iceman is 4 yrs old. Neutered and up to date on all shots. When I got him from his 3rd owner I wasn't with my husband. Then we decided to get back together. Iceman is not fond of men. Honestly i believe he was abused by a man. I would love for him to go to an all female home. He truly is a great dog and very misunderstood. He protects my little girl and me. He is ok with my husband as long as me and my little girl isn't in the house. Iceman is in Stockbridge, GA. Staying with my mother inlaw. Jonesboro, GA: Elderly Chow Chow Needs Help

This sweet boy is currently at Clayton County Animal Control.  He has been there about a week and I've been keeping my eye on him. He is a really sweet boy, but he does not appear to hear much, if anything at all!!!  I think he has a pretty bad ear infection, and if it has been going on awhile, that would probably explain the lack of hearing.  He has already been placed on the "kill list" and I was able to get him a little more time, but I don't know how long it would actually be the humane thing to do to keep him just sitting down there... I don't think he's  a young dog. His AC# is 120012.  If anyone has any options for this sweet boy, please act quickly.  Any inquiries about this dog should be directed to Animal Control at 770-477-3684.

Griffin, GA: Calico Feline Needs a Good Home

Nabisco is approx 8 months old -calico-and a sweet gentle animal. She tends to be shy of other animals because she is fearful of unexpected "pouncing". she has been combo tested (negative/negative) and is fully vetted & up to date on all vaccinations & microchipped. We are hoping to find either a special needs rescue that can better assist this southern belle find her purrfect home or that special someone w/ rooom in their home & heart. Chihuahuas are very sensitive little dogs and they shake and tremble in shelter

cages--this little girl was someone's pet for years and now has been thrown

away like an old shoe.  

They have arrived on death row because someone moved away and simply

left them behind--because they escaped from their yards and no one

bothered to look for them--because someone moved and did not find a place

where they could go as well--because people failed them--because no one

cared--because they are "just dogs" after all.

Now they need you desperately--because they will die without your help.

FREE TO GOOD HOME. This is a 12 year old female Black Lab named Athena. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. The only noticeable Chow is the black spot on the tung. She is very sweet and is good with children. She would be great for an elderly person. Due to her age she is not very active but she is in good health. Athena had a physical last December. Her only medical problem is she is deaf. She is an indoor dog and likes a pet door so she can go in and out as she pleases. My wife passed away 1 year ago and I am raising a 13 year old grandson and will soon have a 5 year old grandson to raise. I am having to move and will not able to take Athena. I need to find a good home for her by March 15 or I will have to place her in an animale shelter. The rescue shelters I have called don't have any room for her. Please call Richard @ 770-347-8494.

Please take a look at this stunning boy. He came in with his mate, the white Boxer on one of the pictures. Both were supposed to be picked up by their owner who never came. His mate is now going into foster care in Brooksville, FL but Romeo remains behind bars and since the facility is full, he is now in extreme danger of losing his life via heart stick euthanasia. Romeo is only around 2 years old and very sweet. After several tests, Romeo appears to be deaf! He does not respond to any kind of noise that he does not see, like clapping hands, squeaky toys, etc. He is more interested in the volunteers than at looking and sniffing other dogs. The volunteer who has worked with him said she would trust him with other females but not so much males, which is why the foster home in FL was unable to take him. He does not do that good with cats, no aggression but the volunteer thinks he would just try to snatch one if he could.

This 1-yr-old Aussie mix (?) is in a GA kill shelter and doesn't have much time left. He was adopted out in October but brought back because he has gone blind. They believe he is deaf, too. Neutered. Looks like an Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix.

I think his name is Neptune. That was the file name for the photo, but the email on the dog didn't state his name. He is vetted and neutered. Someone is available to pull and hold this dog until transport can be arranged.

This gorgeous girl was turned in by her “owner.” The owner stated she is a DEAF female Pitbull puppy….only 7 months old……just a baby!! Her name is Destiny and she gets along great with dogs and loves children and adults. Since she is an owner surrender, she is available NOW!

Pitbulls are not only absolutely wonderful pups and additions to your family but they are also very intelligent and I know this girl would pick up on hand signals for training very easily!! Please help this beautiful girl. I will send better pictures once I go to the shelter this weekend.
