This is Amanda from the Lampasas Animal Shelter. We are desperately in need of a rescue that may be able to help this wonderful little dog. Her name is Imp, and she is possibly a fox terrier/chihuahua cross, and is about two years old if I remember correctly. We thought she would go fairly quickly, but it's a good thing she didn't. After a couple of weeks in the shelter, it became obvious that Imp was pregnant. Lately, it looks as if she is getting close to term. We moved her into a private room over the weekend just in case she had her puppies, and when we did, we realized something that had been impossible to notice in the noisy kennel - Imp is deaf as well as pregnant. She is very sweet, and is suprisingly good with kids. She has never shown any sign of aggression; not even a nip if you wake her up. We actually had her out with a group of 4-H kids a couple of weeks ago, and she loved it. She does great on a leash, and loves to cuddle.
Due to her disability, let alone her pregnancy, we know that it will be almost impossible to place her from here in the shelter. We also understand that it will be difficult for you as rescues to find her a loving home. In other words, we know that this is a long shot, but we wanted to try just in case.
