Hello! My name is Lucca. I am an approximately 3 years old neutered male. As you can see, my eyes have different colors and that makes me even more special! I am deaf but it does not slow me down one bit! I like to play with toys as well as play hide and seek. If you have any paper bags from your shopping trips, I would LOVE to play in them! Sometimes I find a good hiding spot. I am a good boy and will always come out when I want to snuggle. And boy, do I love to snuggle! I am a little love bug. I get along with other cats in the foster home and even snuggle with them. I loooove to eat...  I am a quiet cat and would do best in a house with no young children, dogs, or cats who might sneak up and tackle me. Older, calm cats and dogs are A-OK. Hi everyone. Please meet Harley. He is approximately 5-6 years of age, and deaf. That doesn't stop him from being a normal cat, and using all of his other senses. Harley has been at the Lakes Region Humane Society in Ossipee, NH 03864 for over 5 months now. He stays in our vet tech room alone because he does not like other cats. Understandable since he probably was not socialized properly with other cats. We are looking for a forever home for Harley. Ridgely, MD: Cat in Need of a Home

Hi Everyone,


I'm just trying to put out a mass plea for a cat we have here named Squeakers. Poor Squeakers has been here almost a whole year!  He is 12 going on 13 years old and is deaf!  Squeakers was in one of our long runs for ever until room opened up at the Caroline County Detention Center where he's been for the last several months.  He was not doing so great there and was starting to fight with the other cats in the room. It's a small room that they're kept in at the Center.  So because Squeakers was not doing so well, he was brought back to the shelter where we put him back in his long run.  Now he is in the run with other cats and has never had an issue here before he went to the detention center.  We think he may just be starting to show signs of stress and because of this, we are desperately trying to get our boy out.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Please let all your friends and rescue contacts know about Squeakers' plight.  He is a wonderful boy who we want to get out of the shelter.  I've enclosed pictures of our boy too for you all!

Fredericksburg, VA: Deaf and Blind Cat Needs Help!

A neutered long-haired (matted) white male cat (name Tuffy) came into the Spotsylvania County Animal Control Shelter yesterday by his owner. He is deaf, blind and extremely matted. His control # is 1253. If there is anyone that can help get this guy out of jail, please contact the shelter directly.

Super friendly. I do not have any additional information other than the fact that he is not in the main cat room where visitors would see him. He is in the back in observation because he is matted, deaf and blind. The shelter does not consider that very adoptable qualities. Poor Tuffy does not stand a chance in this place where they have a hard time getting the cute, fluffy and perfect cats adopted. Someone needs to rescue him as we never know when his time will be up.

Washington, DC: Deaf Kitten

Skittles was brought into the Homeward Trails Animal Rescue program over the weekend. He is a delightful boy who LOVES to play and interact with other animals. He is super friendly with people and will just cuddle in your arms and purr away when you hold him. He is just about perfect in every way.

We believe that Skittles is deaf. He is a little skittish at times and we do think he would do best in an adult home or a home with older children. He definitely needs to be in a home with other animals as he really enjoys engaging with cats and dogs.

Skittles is scheduled to be neuter early next week. He is current on his vaccines and tested FIV& FeLV negative. His adoption fee is $100.00. We think he is about 6 months old. Please contact Nancy Lumb at thebubies@mac.com or nancy.lumb@intelsat.com for further information.

Louisville, KY: Deaf Cats Stay Together

Both siblings are playful, shy with strangers, and love to be rubbed and loved on once they get to know you. Their mother was a feral cat that was being fed at a nearby barn. The cat was also pregnant and when her kittens were six weeks old and weaned, she brought them in her mouth and dropped them at the door of their caregiver (Debbie), who has had them since that time. Daphne and Della need to be the only cats in a household that is accustomed to caring for deaf cats. Daphne has blue eyes, is totally deaf and a alpha cat.
