Sea Cliff, NY: Pit Bull Time is Up

Hello everyone,
This is Whitey. She's a white pitbull located at Glen Animal Hospital in Sea Cliff, NY and is in DESPERATE need for a caring and loving home. Whitey is as sweet as can be and is special in one unique way; she's deaf. She's been deaf her entire 2 years of life and just wants someone to love her. Unfortunately, Whitey has been in this shelter for a year and a half and hasn't found a home yet since she's deaf. The other urgent and unfortunate part is that if she doesn't find a home by next week, they're going to put her to sleep. I'm asking you all to PLEASE help Whitey find a good home before this amazing dog gets put down. I strongly believe that every dog, whether good or bad deserves a chance at life and deserves to be loved and cared for no matter what.
If you are not interested in Whitey, please be kind enough to pass this email around to everyone that you know so that someone can adopt her. This is very time sensitive, so don't wait until the last minute, every minute of life is crucial to this dog this week and I'm not going to have this dog put down because no one wants her.
If you are interested, please contact the Glen Animal Hospital at 516-671-2800. They are located at 209 Glen Cove Avenue, Sea Cliff, NY 11579.
Even if you or someone you know could foster him until she finds his permanent home, that would be great.
Name: Whitey
Age: 2 years old
Sex: Female
Color: white with some brown spots.
Shots: I believe she should be up to date with all his shots.
Training: Since she is deaf, you need to use hand gestures, almost like sign language to her. The shelter will be able to give you all the info you need.
Thank you all SO much for taking the time out to read this. I'm sure Whitey appreciates it too :)
Sincerely,
Christine Capobianco

Islip, NY: Pit Bull Needs a Home or Sanctuary

He is very loved where he is but he has been there too long and we no longer have the funds to keep him there safe and cared for. Placement for Francis has proved to be difficult and we are in real need of finding him a home in a loving sanctuary where his needs can be met and he can thrive as he is. My rescue organization pulls all breeds from the city kill shelters frequently and Francis, renamed by his trainers was on the euth list so we saved him from the CACC'S high kill shelter, another disposable pit bull. If you have the space for Francis, we are really in need of getting him to his forever home as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Nashville, TN: Pit Bull Needs Another Placement
I am a volunteer for the MJ shelter and help several rescue groups but this one is special needs and would like her to get the help and special attention she needs. She is about 6-8 months old and has been picked up in the Nashville area about 4 months ago in the middle of the street. She is deaf, not sure if she is completely or just partial because she does seem to hear very loud bangs just not clapping of the hands or being called or the other dogs barking. She is a pure white pit with a pink nose and ears. There is currently 4 other dogs in the home and 2 are very dominant and keep beating her up and this is one of the reasons she needs to get out of the home quickly. The owner is an elderly man and his children and grandchildren seem to keep bringing animals home and he said then he is left responsible for their care, but this one he really wants to have her find a good home because of her special needs and he knows his home is not it. If there is anything anyone can do, please e-mail as soon as possible, I will transport her. She is a sweet dog and needs love and attention.Tanya Beadles

Jacksonville, FL: Pit Bull Lost Since 11/26/10. Help!

I've escaped once before, and I was found by Orange Park High School, and taken to Clay County Animal Protection Services in Green Cove Springs. My owner had to spring me out and pay a fine because I didn't wear a tag. I have had all my vaccinations, rabies and all.
Again, my stats are:
Neutered, male, white with spots on my fine coat - I have a spot on one of my eyes, just like the dog in the old tv show Little Rascals. I was wearing a reflective collar, black and gray (the reflective part is gray). My owner was stupid enough to postpone getting me my tag and see what happens! However I do have a microchip, so shelters can scan it for identification purposes... if they do it at all when they are not too overwhelmed with the volume of dogs like me getting in all the time.
I think I am done with my grand adventure and I am ready to go home to my owners. I don't know why, but they love me with all their hearts and I'm sure they are very sad about me being gone. Please help me get back home where I belong!

New Haven, CT: Pit Bull Needs a Home/Foster or Rescue
Hi everyone. I'm reaching out for a little help here. The New Haven Animal Shelter is pretty full. We have a few dogs that have been at the shelter for a while. I need to get them out of the shelter to a safer , less stressful place. This dog is very special, he is deaf. His name is Joba and he was found as a stray. He had a responsible owner at some point because he is already neutered. Joba is very handsome and friendly. Joba makes good eye contact , knows his sit command, takes treats gently. Joba likes to go for walks and is a happy guy.

Maury County, TN: Pit Bull Needs Help

The young man who saved the dog said that he had seen the two dogs playing in a field that morning on his way to work. He said he thought why are those beautiful dogs running loose (boxer & bulldog). They should be in their yard. (He couldn't stop because he was on his way to work) On his way home from work he saw them on the side of the highway. (Highway 7 in Maury County) He thought they were both dead but he pulled off the highway to check. That's when he noticed the white bulldog had his head resting on the boxer's chest. He raised his head and began to whimper & cry. The young man picked him up and put him in his truck. He said he just had to help!!!
The dog is a young unaltered male. He is very friendly with other dogs and children. If you sit down beside him he will get in your lap and lie down. (Wants to be held like a baby) He is shy and cowers down if you raise your hands...(Like he's been hit). The man already has two dogs of his own and can't take in another one. If you can help, please let me know by sending me an email at srine@maurycounty-tn.gov. Sonjalyn Rine |

Ermine, KY: Pit Bull Pup Needs Help ASAP
Spike is a very sweet solid white pit bull that is deaf. He will be one year old in December. He weighs about 60-70 lbs. Spike is not neutered. His family is looking for him a new home because they just don’t have the time for him and they recently moved and can’t have him where they are now. He is currently staying with a friend but needs a home or rescue or he will be going to the local kill shelter. His family did not know he was deaf when they purchased him and they are not familiar with training a deaf dog. They say he is very friendly and great with kids. They have been trying to sale him on a classifieds page and this is where I saw him. I contacted them about a month ago and they were hesitant to accept any help. I’m afraid they will still try to sale him even though they have now accepted our help so the sooner he can find rescue the better. I don’t want him to end up with dog fighters, which are quite common here. He is located in Perry County, Kentucky I am the contact for this boy.
Thank you,
