Chicago, IL: American Bulldog Seeks a Home

Dear Friends of Petraits,

Dylan (Petraits attached) is an extremely handsome, playful, fun, and energetic, two-year-old, 65-pound, male, deaf American Bulldog looking for a loving guardian.

Dylan is a smart boy with a great personality who pays close attention to his human companions and has learned sign language. He knows the commands sit, come, down, and will automatically sit if he see you have a treat for him. He really forms a strong bond with his people. He is also full of energy like a playful and fun two-year-old puppy.

Dylan is looking for a loving human to take him under their wing to continue his training and boost his confidence. He loves people and is full of kisses and tail wags. He also loves to hang out in a dog bed to play with his toys and chew his bones. Even though he can’t hear a squeaky toy, he still loves the vibrations they make in his mouth.

Dylan loves to play rough and tumble with other dogs his own size. Being deaf, he can’t hear other dogs’ warning growls, so he’s best with an equally playful companion. He may eventually be fine with dog-loving cats. He is great in the car, good on walks, and can easily run a couple miles with a human running buddy.

Dylan is healthy, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. To meet and possibly foster or adopt Dylan, please contact info@secondhandsnoots.org for an adoption application. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Secondhand Snoots.

PLEASE CROSSPOST~PLEASE FORWARD~PLEASE NETWORK AS QUICKLY
AS POSSIBLE ON BEHALF OF THESE PRECIOUS DOGS AND DARLING PUPPIES
WHO ARE SCHEDULED TO DIE ON WEDNESDAY, March 9th, beginning at
8:00AM at Floyd County Animal Control in Rome, GA.  In this very high intake
shelter they have little chance of being saved through adoption--but they are all
so adoptable!  Among them are two whose plight seems especially hard--one
is a small senior Chihuahua--just a little thing who is no doubt terrified--
Chihuahuas are very sensitive little dogs and they shake and tremble in shelter
cages--this little girl was someone's pet for years and now has been thrown
away like an old shoe.
They have arrived on death row because someone moved away and simply
left them behind--because they escaped from their yards and no one
bothered to look for them--because someone moved and did not find a place
where they could go as well--because people failed them--because no one
cared--because they are "just dogs" after all.
Now they need you desperately--because they will die without your help.
Every dog and puppy on this post must have an offer RECEIVED BY THE
SHELTER BY 4PM ON TUESDAY, MARCH 8TH OR THEY WILL DIE!
There are no exceptions -- emails and faxes are NEVER READ PRIOR TO PUTTING
THE ANIMALS DOWN ON WEDNESDAY MORNINGS!
EMAILS AND FAXES ARE ONLY READ UNTIL 4PM ON TUESDAY!
FCAC PUPPIES ARE NOW RECEIVING THEIR FIRST 5-WAY VACCINATIONS!!!
Contact information for the shelter is immediately below the pictures!
If you are an out of state rescue or a GA rescue not on the approved list
at the shelter, you will need a rescue on the approved list to pull for
you!!!
IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO PULL A DOG OR PUPPY,
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WAIT!!!!!
IMMEDIATELY!!!
Rescues require vet and reference checks and there must be time to do this before the 4pm deadline and ALL paperwork
MUST BE in place.

PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE WORDS
"RESCUE OFFER" IN YOUR SUBJECT LINE!!!!

Pittsburgh, PA: American Bulldog Needs Help Now

For more info on him please contact Janice at Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley:
by phone: 724-339-7388

Our deaf doggie is Littlefoot. Here are his stats and his picture is attached:
Breed: American Bulldog Mix
Gender: Male
Age on arrival: 2 year
Date of arrival: 11.15.10

This big guy is a little puppy at heart. He was born deaf, which was unknown to his owners and proved to be a challenge because they also had a new baby. With no extra time to train their special needs dog, Littlefoot was kept in the basement. Littlefoot would benefit from an owner with dog handling/training experience. We will only adopt this dog to a home with a fenced yard for his safety. If you have any questions or need anything, please let me know. Thank you!!

Alvin, Texas: Am Bulldog Needs Donation for Injury

Please Help Zeus!

All Donations are “Tax Deductible” and can be made through PayPal, American Express, or by sending a check to “Paws” at P.O. Box 816, Alvin, Texas 77512. You can also go tohttp://www.pawsrescue.org/info/donate on our website or to Chip In athttp://pawsanimalrescue.chipin.com/zeus.

Zeus is the sweetest most gentle 2 year old American Bulldog we have ever seen. He was found wandering the streets of Houston when he was a 6 month old pup. He is deaf and has been in our rescue for a year and a half. He had bowed back legs when he was brought to our rescue.

There did not seem to be a problem until he got older. We took him to a specialist and he was diagnosed with luxating patella’s, medial and lateral. He also had a torn ligament. We have had one of his legs operated on and the bill was over 3200.00. His left leg should cost a little less because he hasn’t torn the ligament.

In four months we have to operate on the other leg. Because Zeus was in so much pain our only options were surgery or euthanization. Zeus has the opportunity to have quality of life with surgery to fix his legs. We would appreciate any donations to help us pay Zeus’ medical bills.

Greenville, AL: American Bull Dog Pup Needs Help Quick

We are running out of space and time to hold onto him. He is 7 months old. He's an American Bulldog who is extremely sweet.

Yes, he is deaf. Not Neutered. Not UTD on shots. Very sweet somewhat jumpy but only because he doesn't know you're there. Good with kids but not to sure about dogs and cats. The family that had him was splitting up and the wife couldn't handle him.

If you can help, contact Kristi Stinson at greenville_animal_shelter@yahoo.com

Etowah County, AL: American Bulldog is Not Doing Well

Meet Jackson, a deaf American Bulldog at a shelter in Etowah County, AL. He passed his temperament test with flying colors and needs a home ASAP! He is getting sick at the shelter.

Jackson was picked up as a neighborhood stray, but the community didn't call him in because he was a nuisance - they called him in because the other dogs were beating him up all the time! He has some scarring on his face and needs a little medical TLC.

He is a sweet boy who I just fell in love with and want to save. He will not fare well if left at the shelter much longer. Please - rescues, fosters, adopters - help me get this boy out and find him a home!

I have more pictures and info if needed. Any help will be appreciated!

Patterson, CA: American Bull Dog has Until 48 Hours

Dino was abandoned at a house in Patterson, CA, when his owners walked away from their home and left him and a Boxer behind to fend for themselves. The Boxer was recently placed with his new "forever home" and we need to find a 'forever home" for Dino as he has become very attached to his “Foster Dad” and is becoming aggressive to the dog who has lived in the Foster dad’s home for the past 4 and half years. If we cannot place him within the next 48 hours our only option will be to euthanize him.

Dino is a very sweet, well behaved 4 year old American Bulldog, NOT A PIT BULL. He is deaf but that doesn't stop him one bit. He is learning signs and has mastered "Good Boy!", "Sit", "Down" & "Love". He is very social and loves to be by your side. He is good with other dogs but does have some issues with them when he is eating or has a lot of unspent energy. He has been in our home for a couple of months and he has shown no reaction towards our cats. We do believe that due to his needing to eat alone he would probably be best suited in a home without other animals. Dino desperately needs a "FOREVER home". His breed is great on a farm or ranch. Time is running out for his temporary home with us as the Home Owners Association here limits the amount of pets we as his foster humans can have and Dino puts us over the limit. He is neutered, current with vaccinations and the vet has given him a clean bill of health. Please call Big Dawgs Rescue at 925-337-6377 or Bill at 925-452-7721 or 209-404-3916 if you are interested in meeting Dino. His adoption fee is $150.00 and is payable to Big Dawgs Rescue to further their work in placing large breed dogs. It does not have to be paid all at once and can even be waived if need be to save his life. We ask that you make a commitment to training him more with sign language, daily exercising of at least a walk of 2 miles and that you get a microchip ID implanted in him.

Best Regards;

Bill Lindley

Happy Ending for the Lost Deaf Dog, Luna!

On January 4th, it was posted here about Luna -- a deaf dog -- who escaped from the vet clinic and was lost. A plea was sent out to bring Luna home. Fortunately for Luna, she was found after one week in the freezing weather the Upstate is known for. Luna was on the news: Click here and here

Click here if you want to read about how Luna's owner wouldn't give up on finding Luna. He truly cares about his fur-member as well as the community involved in searching for her.
